A Sony spokesperson confirmed the news to us, stating that the company had “died”.
The Playstation Plus content on the platform is no more available for purchase, however, according to the spokesperson, and no new PlayStation Plus subscription has been issued.
The PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game will continue to be sold in the US, but no longer available to purchase.
This is the second recent announcement from Sony about its planned discontinuation of its PlayStation content.
Last year, the company announced it would be taking all of its games off its platform in 2018, and that it would discontinue the online play features for PlayStation Plus members, meaning that all existing online multiplayer and social features would be lost.
We have reached out to Sony for comment.
